From Fujian to Prato in the wake of the Dharma:
Encountering the Buddhist Nuns from Jilesi 极乐寺"

Six Buddhist nuns are presently living in the Puhuasi 普華寺, the Chinese temple in Prato (Tuscany). They come from a renowned Buddhist nunnery in Fujian, the Jilesi 極樂寺, female branch of Beijing’s Longquansi 龙泉寺. Shi Xuecheng 释学诚, President of the Buddhist Association of China (BAC) and abbot of Longquansi, is their principal master. Shi Xiandi 释贤迪 and her dharma-sisters have moved to Prato in order to serve as spiritual guides for the Chinese migrants in Italy as well as to spread Buddhist culture among Italian people. During our encounter, they will share with us their life experience, touching upon topics such as their vocation, their beliefs and life-style, and their life within the community in Prato.
