Inaugurazione mostra:
"Migrant Aliens"

Il 25 ottobre alle 18.00 sarà inaugurata presso il Campus Luigi Einaudi l’installazione Migrant Aliens dell’artista cinese Fu Yuxiang. Gli alieni sbarcano a Torino dopo aver riscosso un enorme successo alla Biennale di Venezia, dove erano esposti nell’ambito del Friendship Project che coinvolge la Repubblica Popolare Cinese e la Repubblica di San Marino.

Assistant Professor of Chinese Studies University of Arizona

The Department of East Asian Studies in the School of International Languages, Literatures and Cultures (SILLC) at the University of Arizona invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Chinese Studies. Ph.D. in hand is expected by the time of the appointment, August 2018.

We seek applicants with a specialization in the ancient period. Applicants should have solid training in early Chinese texts, thought, and language, as well as an active research agenda with the potential to attract outside funding. Areas of expertise may include early Chinese literary thought and textual traditions, paleography, etc. We are particularly interested in scholars with innovative, interdisciplinary approaches to unearthed documents,
early/Classical literary theory, and pre-Buddhist thought.

Teaching responsibility will be four courses per year, including undergraduate and graduate courses in areas covering Daoism, Confucianism, and the area of specialization; and a lower-division Chinese Civilization course. Successful candidates will have an ability to emphasize the relevance of early Chinese culture across fields and to contemporary China. They will also show aptitude for engaging and dynamic teaching methods, such as experiential education and digital platforms. Outreach is an important aspect of the College of Humanities’ mission, and it is expected that the successful applicant will be engaged in this enterprise, either through public lectures, community engagement, or study abroad. This is a benefits-eligible position and the appointment starts
in August 2018.

Fellowships and Grants in Buddhist Studies

The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) invites applications in the 2017-18 competition year of The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Program in Buddhist Studies. In cooperation with the Foundation, ACLS offers an integrated set of fellowship and grant competitions supporting work to expand the understanding and interpretation of Buddhist thought in scholarship and society, to strengthen international networks of Buddhist studies, and to increase the visibility of innovative currents in those studies.

Deadline for submission of fellowship applications: November 15, 2017.
Deadline for institutional applications for New Professorships: January 10, 2018.

Assistant or Associate Professor in premodern Chinese Literature at Washington U, St. Louis

The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a tenure-track/tenured faculty appointment in premodern Chinese Literature at the rank of Assistant or Associate to begin in the fall semester of 2018. A Ph.D. in Chinese Literature or a closely related field at the time of appointment and native or near-native fluency in both Chinese and English are required. The successful candidate should also be willing to contribute to any of the following programs: East Asian Studies, Film and Media Studies, Performing Arts, Comparative Literature, Women and Gender and Sexuality Studies, Religious Studies, and the university's growing interest in digital humanities, medical humanities, and Asian-American Studies. Candidates for the rank of Assistant Professor must demonstrate commitment to teaching and research in Chinese language and literature/culture. Duties will include teaching assigned courses at the graduate and undergraduate level (normally two per semester), maintaining an active research and publishing program, and advising students. Candidates for the rank of tenured Associate Professor must have a proven record of excellence in teaching, research, and contributions to the field. Duties will include, in addition to those stated above, departmental and university service.
